Project: The End (Jake's Story)

Organization: Nuru International

Jake Harriman served over seven years as a platoon commander in both the Infantry and an elite unit of Marines called Force Recon. After completing two tours of duty in Iraq (receiving the Bronze Star for actions in combat) and fighting the war on terror all around the world, Jake came to the realization that the only chance we have of ending terrorism is to end extreme poverty. Jake left his career in the Marines to start an organization to end extreme poverty. He enrolled at Stanford's Graduate School of Business, and with the help of his classmates, professors, and some Silicon Valley venture capitalists, Jake formed Nuru International. This is his story.

Original score donated by Tyler Bates, composer for over fifty films including 300, The Watchmen, Halloween and Dawn of the Dead.

The Art of Storytelling

THE ART OF STORYTELLING

Everyone loves stories. Storytelling is at the core of the human experience.

Stories inspire, encourage, help us understand our experiences and those around us; as close as next door or as far as the other side of the world.

We can take the core idea of your story from concept to completion and tell it the way it needs to be told. Every story is unique and deserves to be crafted in a way appropriate to the story content, purpose and audience. We can do just that. Let us tell your story; whatever it is.

PRODUCTION & MANAGEMENT

Taking a raw idea and making it a finished reality requires the full spectrum of involvement. We can be involved in the entire process or select parts of the journey. For your production, we can see both the big picture and how each piece fits into it.

Whether overseeing and managing the whole production start to finish, or fulfilling a specific role within the process, we bring that custom service to your project. We can provide the most appropriate solution to fit your specific needs. You bring the idea; we bring the fuel and the machine to get the party started.

Sample project: The End (Jake’s Story)

In telling the short yet powerful story about Jake Harriman’s firsthand encounter with extreme poverty while in the Marines and why he chose to devote his life to make a difference, the stakes were high to communicate his story in a compelling way.

It required an effective blend of on-camera storytelling, motion graphics, animation, illustrations, news/file footage, a powerful music score and bringing it all together with the collaboration of talented creative artists. With all the moving parts during production; oversight and management were critical to delivering a high quality end result in a timely manner.

Event Production

EVENT PRODUCTION

Live events provide the opportunities for experiences that produce once-in-a-lifetime memories or move people into action. We get that.

Creating an experience, a moment, and a significant event goes way beyond assembling lights, sound, and video gear. We have the experience to see the big vision, the purpose of the event and provide the right solutions to fulfill that vision.

Small or large, your event can have a custom solution designed to maximize its potential. We can collaborate to provide as much or as little involvement and support as you need.

Sample project: No Ordinary Day youth event

No Ordinary Day was the name of a week-long youth event involving 6,000 students from around the U.S. This triennial gathering included compelling speakers, amazing bands, talented artists and a whole lot of fun.

Craig was a member of the main stage team responsible for selecting the event theme, speakers, bands, and developed the programs for each day’s sessions. He was responsible for the entire live video solution, including stage/lighting/video design, managing video systems and crew, as well as working tightly with content creation for the event. Following the event, he created a highlight DVD for the students to have as a keepsake.

ENGINEERING & SYSTEM DESIGN

Technical artists are often required to accomplish creative art. Many of the tools used for visual artistry and storytelling rely on the technical artists who design them, which helps ease the workflow to empower the creative artist realize the vision. We love the realm of technical art!

We understand the complexities of mind-numbing technology, and simplify it until it’s approachable for those who will use it. Engineering, system design, and workflow design sound complex, but are the necessary elements that enable creatives to focus on their art, not stumble over the tools used. Yeah, we get that too.

Craig has been involved with designing and integrating all types of live and post production systems, including small live mobile production systems (“fly packs”), mid-sized in-house multi-camera live production systems to an enterprise-level auditorium complete with a large video and audio production complex.

Sample project: Willow Creek Auditorium, Chicago

The $73M, 350,000 sq. ft. facility has full-scale live-production systems, integrated production studios, audio recording and post systems, graphic design systems and six post production suites, all built to provide full-scale production support for over 300 events each year.

The 7,200 seat auditorium is one of the largest theaters in the United States. For viewing, it is outfitted with two large, high definition LED screens, 24’ wide x 14’ high which are movable to create one 48’ x 14’ wide screen, and move live to their independent screen positions. The stage is 120’ x 40’ totaling 7000 sq. ft with gala and the proscenium opening is 94’ wide x 57’ high. Due to the large size of the auditorium, there are a total of 64 different screens or flat-panel TVs enabling everyone to have a good view, including accessible seating.
